McIntosh Motors in Pinetown was developed as an expanded workshop facility for a growing Mercedes-Benz dealership, providing additional servicing capacity for cars and trucks on an adjacent site. The project extended the identity of the existing dealership while creating a modern aesthetic for the automotive industry.

The key challenge was to accommodate rapid future operational growth while maintaining a clear continuity with the original architectural language. The facility needed to function as a highly practical space split across separate service bays with a streamlined vehicle flow.

A lightweight structural steel enclosure wraps the workspace as a continuous surface, ensuring visual coherence across the site. The design provides a flexible, modular workspace layout that supports long-term flexible usage through highly controlled detailing.
